Sunday's pick of the week from the Ephemera Project.

I hit a snag building my stretcher bars yesterday. The corners. Maybe I was too tired. Maybe I didn't have the right tools.

I am not a carpenter. However, speaking of carpenters, I found this in a box of ephemera. Jesus had a good eye for landscape design.

I'm guessing this was a Sunday School activity during my pre-school years.

How funny. I want to picture an 8 year-old MAH, with one eyebrow wryly arched as she presents this to her class.

And let's face it... you can already see that 90 degree angles were not going to be my strong suit.

Ah. . . the corners. Do you have those old miter clamp things? Four of them make your job easier.

That looks like our backyard. . . except for the water view and the square deck. Our deck is kidney shaped and we look out over the Co-op.

I have 2 of them. I'll buy 2 more because they are handy, but I'm already at 2 hours of labor (not counting purchasing supplies) and I haven't even finished one stretcher.

Glue would help, too. I was tired.

It's a nice layout. I'm glad I found it.

I love that image. Jesus definitely likes outdoor things.

Were you really only eight? The handwriting looks older.

No, I wasn't eight. I'm guessing I was about three. I opted out of Sunday School rather early due to socialization issues. It's probably the Sunday school teacher's handwriting.

It's over.

Nov 7, 2020. Tears of joy and relief. It's been unreal and I'm ready to get back to a sense of normalcy. The desert has been tough.
