Collated and Mailed.

I want a prize.

The grant was deceptively simple, yet unnecessarily complex. TWENTY-SIX pages to wade through. For real. And— AND, there was conflicting information about what to include and how to include it. I mean, if it was a 1-page grant app, sure, I can think outside the box and wing it, but I'm thinking with 26 pages and explicit directions, perhaps a little proofreading might have been a good idea.

The good news is that I'm set to whip it out in no time at all next year. I'm also really pleased about my project proposal and how it ties back in to some work I did about 15 years ago. Unfortunately it's not exactly big happy art-it deals with my mom's memory loss and um, you know, that inevitable thing other than taxes, but I'm hoping my wicked sense of inappropriate humor will lighten it up.

My next scheduled administrative task MUST be completed this weekend and then I swear I'm going to do nothing but paint.

Oooooh, but wait! I've printed out a hi-rez image of my Brushes iphone sketch, #25 clock radio. OMG, I'm in love with my iPhone. Okay, paint, and make iphone sketches- that's all I'm going to do.

Stay tuned for affordable prints!

The fun part was that I spread out on the floor in the living room and worked, and I'm not cleaning it up until I'm finished.

√ Résumé

I don't know what to say. Quicken was whupping my ass. I had statements to reconcile, categories to clean up, accounts to merge. I am no Luddite, but sometimes pen and paper seem so much more efficient.
Tomorrow it goes in an envelope.

I did NOT work at a desk today. I worked on the floor and it went much better- faster, smoother, and I had much more concentration. This is very good to know. Desks and office chairs, pfft. I have discovered the secret to streamlined productivity and it starts with an IKEA coffee table and the IKEA Alseda stool.

Rumor has it, the talk went well.

It's recorded and perhaps one day in the near future an edited version will show up on You Tube, but for now, I'm back to the nut and bolts, behind the scenes business of my artmaking empire, meaning that my laptop and I have melded into a single form.

I go to Nashville, then Del Rey Beach, Florida, then Nashville again, in about 2 or 3 weeks. Have 2 mid-size paintings going on in the studio that I will finish before I leave and am working on some small watercolors. I'm anticipating having a flat file sale near the end of summer or fall.

It's over.

Nov 7, 2020. Tears of joy and relief. It's been unreal and I'm ready to get back to a sense of normalcy. The desert has been tough. ...
