Day 20, 21. Crap, it's almost over.

Wednesday. I went for a run and had to go to a funeral today. Studio hours moved to evening. School starts in about 2 weeks.

Thursday. Worked on an impromptu grant app. Completed it, but it took the better part of the day. I should be able to knock these things out blindfolded, and yet, there I sat, tapping away and selecting images.

I love this painting. It looks as though it confidently sprung forth, through uncritical, yet focused concentration. Please don't tell me if this was not the case.

thanks. I won't burst your bubble but the 1st pass might have been better--but as usual I overshot it and then tried to backtrack. The major difference is her stance. In the first one she looked a bit more Gauguinish and like she was trying to run towards us. I didn't catch that until later and I wasn't able to get the stance back. So now she's cocky or maybe pissed since she's no longer able to escape.

Love this, wow. love. Why, do I love it, because, the daring of the colours, the vibrancy, the attitude. the art historical reference. the fun and seriousness. that log in the lower left... the paintingness.

Yeah, me too. It's got it all.

It's over.

Nov 7, 2020. Tears of joy and relief. It's been unreal and I'm ready to get back to a sense of normalcy. The desert has been tough.
